Gadgets, Accessories, and Thingies FAQ
Latest Revision: August 23, 2004
Welcome to the GATFAQ! Many amateur astronomers, particularly newcomers, are surprised at the number of accessories and "toys" that can go on a telescope. Even experienced observers have witnessed a large number of changes, like new eyepiece design, different kinds of finders, and special filters that go beyond the "old standbys" of color filters for planetary observing. The GATFAQ is meant to provide a basic overview for some of the commoner kinds of accessories encountered in the hobby today.
